The main goal of this activity is to create a visual story by using different camera shots to convey specific ideas and moods. After choosing an object as a character, organize all 15 images in a presentation depending on the purpose of the tale. The submission must include shot labels explaining each shot and its purpose.
The most important part of this project was to begin by planning each shot. We decided to start brainstorming ideas to come up with a broken pen's story expedition trying to find some hero to his problem. When doing this my partner and I decided to do little sketches, short explanations, and signs of crucial factors that made it faster and easier to create each shot. While starting with the establishing shots and adding extreme close-ups to increase the purpose of our message, we adjusted some details to finish our project. To finish the assignment we included a description on each PowerPoint page of the shots' and angles' purpose and then submitted it to the class page.
To do better in future assignments I believe it is important to recognize achievements as well as mistakes and learn from them. In our project, we are conscious that we decided on a creative and unique story that met almost all of the requirements except for the fact that our extreme close-up shot is supposed to be taken from a tighter perspective so that just the tip of the pencil is seen to show the importance of it breaking. We now know that for future occasions we need to think about each little aspect while looking at the whole frame so that we know what should not be there or what needs to be included.
